I'm currently reaching out to a few manufacturers. Most of them have 2.5kva, 3kva or 5kva offerings in single phase. I'm veering towards 3kva or 5kva. Since these bulky devices aren't exactly cheap and will obviously be a lifelong investment, I would greatly appreciate recommendations and advice from all those who are successfully using a static voltage stabiliser for their led tv + hifi system. What red flags should I avoid while shortlisting these devices?

Thank you for sharing the details. I am also looking for a power protection equipment, I am new to this. I have an amp, CD/Blu Ray player and will upgrade to a streamer eventually. Not sure how many KV is enough for this setup. Please post once you make a decision

Any specific reason you wanted a voltage stabiliser ? I was under the impression that you don’t need it in Mumbai ?
Especially pt 3. Given the consistent daily dangerous over voltage (250+) and crazy daily surges which I've observed for more than a year, a voltage stabilizer is an absolute must in Mumbai unless one is as my local electrician puts it, "rich and ignorant" and can afford to "use and throw" equipment on a regular basis.

Under the current electricity distribution management in Mumbai, there is generally an over voltage which on an average shows at 246V and touches sometimes 250v too .
So gone are the days of consistent 220v or 230v..
It's like Russian Roulette, as long as nothing happens to your gear then the going is good. The day your luck is bad due to over voltage or a spike then it's bad luck with your expensive gear. Hence imo, a stabilizer is recommended in such a scenario.

A couple of weeks back my electricity meter was damaged beyond repair- the power went off in half the house. In checking the Adani power guys said that mistake was at their end as there was a surge. I had to pay for the meter replacement. Is this what you are referring to ?

Yes, I was referring to that ! We too had a powercut in our society for half a day due to some work the Adani people were doing. When the power came on, my friend who stays in the next building had issues later when the power came on. His relatively new 6 months old fridge, cctv camera and router are not working.
Voltage in Mumbai, in our area was the best when Bombay Suburban Electric Supply was there. Under Adani distribution, the stabilizer displays over voltage quite often especially at night.
So basically in Mumbai, power cuts may be fewer as compared to the other cities. But the caveat is that it comes with a higher voltage nowadays.

BEST was best. Under Adana cheaper equipments have been installed, espectially the transformers which don't have enough secondary taps to choose lower voltages. Pune was also bad ever since covid and I lost few things when voltages used to cross 260v. But I'm pleasantly surprised. For the last 2 months I'm not seeing voltage exceed 240 v.

No wonder we dont get full proper warranty by brands for electronics in general as compared to other power stable countries.

There is a scene in "Taken" where the protagonist(Liam Neeson) says something like "we never have power cuts" and straps a villain's toady in an electric chair and lets him die.
