Is there any MOBO which can play Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD-MA through its onboard analogue 7.1 out / SPDIF out.

I am particularly interested in

Asus M4A88TD-V-EVO-USB3 or M4A88TD-M-EVO-USB3
Gigabyte GA880-GMA-UD2H

I do not think so. The board doesn't process the HD audio signals. It just bitstreams them over HDMI. So the analog ports are of rather no use.

Still you might want to confirm with someone else as well.

I use HDMI anyway and never bothered about the analogs.

Is it the same with all motherboard?

Is there any motherboard/chipset supports Dolby True HD / DTS HD-MA signals through analogue?

Uh, the 780G,785G and 880G cannot bitstream DTS HD MA/DD True HD or do more than 2 channel LPCM over HDMI. You're going to either need to go with an nVidia 8200/8300 (AMD) or 9300 (Intel) chipset or the newer H55/H57 Intel chipsets. You can even add in a discrete video card from AMD, the 4350 and above all do multi-channel LPCM over HDMI.

Can you please explain what sort of output is the onboard HD4200 on MSI 785G-E53 capable off? I was under the impression that its HDMI out does handle multichannel HD audio. Thanks in advance.

Hellp folks,
I am new here, so dont know much about the home theatre configuration. Recently I've booked an Onkyo HTS 3300. Now, the thing is as I dont have a hd Bluray/dvd player, so I'll be using my Dell inspiron 1525 to play the HD movies with DTS MA. I want to decode that dts-ma in the receiver/amplifier and not in the my laptop.( I guess this is called bitstreaming). So, please help me to know what settings should I do in my player(vlc/gom/media player classic) or sound card (sigmatel-supports hdmi), such that the decoding of the true-hd/dts-ma is done in the receiver only and that 'dts-ma light' is flashed in the receiver?

I, infact, have the same question as above. I have a dell studio 15 laptop which I plan to use with my onkyo-3300(yet to buy) to play 1080p mkv movies( thru hdmi). Will this config be able to achieve the DTS MA and other audio formats output thru the onkyo speakers?

Your onboard graphics will not support bitstreaming TruHD/DTS MA so forget about it.
The only mainboard in the market right now which supports bitstreaming of these formats is the H55/H57 meant for core i3/i5/i7

Does you board support bitstreaming of DD/DTS, then you would have to search for support for multichannel sound over HDMI for Intel GMA X3100 as that the card ur laptop has
