Shall we finally see good quality affordable Vizio TVs in India? LeEco already had plans to launch TVs in India.

TCL is also making entry to India.. May be they have estimated the market potential..

Once these Chinese big brands make entry, they should give a stiff competition for bigger brands and a serious run for the money..

Sincerely hope that the day is not too far..

Exactly! Entry of Vizio with its quality offerings at affordable price will give Samsung/LG/Sony a run for their money (given how overpriced their large screen TVs compared to what they sell for in the USA, despite factoring in import duty and buffer for Fx).

Vizio has acquired quite good critical acclaim in USA and are quite in demand there. I do not expect them to be priced at US levels in India. If at all Le Eco launches Vizio brand, I am pretty sure they will portray it as a higher end brand in their portfolio and might end up pricing them on similar levels as sony/sam/lg etc.

I might be wrong eventually (and hopefully)..but thats a strong hunch.

They don't price Vizio on par with LG/Samsung/Sonyin the US. They will certainly price it a notch below them in India. Though you may be right that Vizio may price its TVs above the Vu, Micromax, etc. - may be on par with Phillips, etc., while LeEco may compete with Vu/Micromax in India.

If they are releasing a 50" 4K TV at 30k, then it will change the game altogether. We should be able to see price drops in the lines of US market.... eagerly waiting...

If they offer a 50 inch 4K TV for 30K, so a FHD should cost way lower than Micromax/VU 50 inch price of 33K..

If you have a choice to buy a 4K 50 inch for 30K, would you still buy Vizio if it was aval in India?

To me Micromax is doing the same in India what Vizio is offering in the US... Me eagerly awaiting the bigger panels from Micromax @ affordable pricing :ohyeah:

Does Micromax, etc. even support HDCP 2.2? I think Vizio does. That's my concern with VU's 65" TV too. I doubt I will be able to use that TV with a 4k Bluray player.

I doubt their success. What people look for was low priced, budget package whereas what they announced something priced in midrange with high end features. If given a choice, I will go for Samsung/LG etc rather than LEeCo

Will you go for a very low-budget TV if you are buying a large screen TV? I will rather go for a mid-budget TV given that large screen TVs will anyway cost me more than 1 lakh. I bought a 40" VU TV, which I found good. But I will rather spend ~2 lakhs on a 65" TV with decent track record than invest in 1.2 lakhs VU.

I bought a 50" reputed brand TV for 64K 3 years ago. I'm looking to buy another, a 65", but not until prices hit 60K-65K. I would like to think we're close, as the Vizio 60" is being offered for 70K. Just need the size to nudge up by 5" and the price to nudge down by 5K ;)

Can you tell me where I can get a 60" Vizio at 70k? Thanks. Also, please check out Panasonic TH60C300DX. It may be around that range (it's a FHD TV).

As a person who bought a TV for 2 lakh rupees,I can tell you,it's better to buy VU for 1.2 lakhs rather than a LG or Samsung for 2 lakhs now. When I bought Samsung 4 years back,I thought it would last atleast 10 years. Now the mother board is damaged and it's not available with Samsung. They are offering to buy the TV back, but I am not that interested in giving the TV back. So,in my opinion it's better not to spend so much money on these reputed brands,as they aren't going to last more than 5 years.Ofcourse,it's an individual decision,I am simply quoting my opinion here.

The quality of Vizio is great. They are netflix ready and so is the remote.
Had picked up a 60+ inch TV a few months back for $1100 with my bro-in-law for his house. Vizio is backed by distribution by Costco i guess. Reputation of Costco counts a lot in US hence ppl buy Vizio specifically from there as they offer better warranties than the manufacturer (in some cases)
