“Music is one of the last avenues for a transcendent experience” - Nick Cave

I always found his music slightly weird and fascinating at the same time (especially the "humming" bass lines).
It was Metallica who introduced me to his music (they covered Loverman in their Garage Inc album Cassette-1 Side-A last song)

Yes, it’s … more of an acquired taste, specially if one is interested in lyrics that are beyond the usual love, loss, romance, and other usual subjects. His music also shows his evolution over time stating with rock and post punk styles to prog rock and more. His body of work is not easy to label… his more recent music seems to explore spirituality, violence, social issues maybe due the deaths of his two sons.
