Dear experts,

My current setup is mainly for movies/DTH.
(Denon 1612 + Polk TSX 330T + RTiA4 + OWM3) .. No Sub.

I am quite satisfied with the sound.

Now ... I want to have a good Amp for listening to music.
(like PM 6006 etc.)

My question is ... will a new Amp (like PM 6006) make a lot of difference to the sound (for music) or do I have to change the speakers as well to really improve the sound.

Also .. how to connect in this case ... Is it like I connect another pair of wires to the Polk ... so Polk will have wires from both Denon and 2 Channel Amp ?

Also ... plz give suggestions on Amps which can pair well with Polk TSX 330T

A good stereo amp does make a difference, Polk are relatively easy to drive so you'd definitely find a great deal of difference with a stereo amp.
There's a good used Marantz PM 6xxx series amp from Gurgaon seller, it is available in classified section, it is a good deal IMHO.

BTW, Disclaimer : Other than sharing the same madness for crystal clear lively audio, I'm in no way related to the Seller [emoji12][emoji12]

Some AVRs have a "Pure Audio" or "Music" mode which, supposedly, enhances music playback. Before you splurge, check if your avr has this setting. It could save you some good money.

There are switches I suppose wherein you can choose to connect 2 Amps , 1 speaker pair. You could use that (or) like you said you can connect another pair of wires - however you should be extremely cautious to only switch on 1 set of amp - if you accidently power on both, you may fry the speakers.
(or) have 2 set of wires, connect the amp that you want to everytime manually using that set of speaker wires.
- that way you can't go wrong

I have Polk TSx 330T. Initially, I had PM 6004, it was good but in demanding music or if you want to crank up the volume, one would discover that it is underpowered. You asked about PM6006. 6004 and 6006 have same output power. So, I doubt whether PM6006 would be able to drive any FS. If you really liked the sound signature of PM series, go for either PM700* or PM800* as they deliver more power. In my opinion, PM500* or PM600* are good for BS speakers.

I already tried the Direct Mode .... The sound is decent .... not much improvement on top of the AVR mode ...

I guess the DAC of Denon 1612 might not be optimized for 2 channel.

I will audition with a dedicated 2 channel Amp with same speaker to find out the improvement

Thanks

hit nail on the head. all talk of 5/6 series marantz driving speakers other than bs is not true. power supply of these marantz amps is very poor. it is selling due to silly discounts more than anything.

The understanding I get from above is that we should look for min 80W per channel .. as the Amp capability ....

Marantz PM6006 should easily drive Polk TSX330T ,the sensitivity matters it is 90db & recommended power 20 to 150 watts ,so it should drive .

I'm using pm6005 to drive Dali Zensor5 ,it easily drives it .Earlier I was using Denon X2200 AVR ,There was a lot of difference between them. Now with pm6005 I could hear lot more details and the speaker opened really well for songs.
But if u have budget its better to have pm7005 or 8005.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
