Hi All,
Have a look at the range of 2014 probable models showcased at the CES recently. Perhaps some of them may head towards India in some time.
The interesting thing is that there is no 32 inch LED any more from SONY in their very popular W Series.

These are the following series unveiled so far.

W850B LED Internet HDTV: Models: KDL-60W850B, KDL-70W850B

Its not just that, I went to a few showrooms in Bangalore like Croma/Reliance/eZone/Pai etc and all I heard over there was that the current 32/42 W600 series TV's are outdated and production for the same is stopped! Stocks may last only 2months max......I was surprised since it has hardly been One year since they have been into sales! And going by Sony's CES Releases if at all this TV(40” (diag) W600B Series LED HDTV - KDL-40W600B Review - Sony US) comes to India this March, I think Samsung/LG will have a very aggressive competitor! 500$ is some aggressive pricing for a 40" FHD TV! :clapping:

Dream on ... i don't think Sony would sell it so cheap locally in India. They will price is at least above 40k or even more as they need to pay duty and other taxes.Plus they will want to make some profit also on the same. That's how the pricing is for all their products from most of the manufacturers.

I agree with Dushie....Dream on!

They always treat the Indian market the worst.

The pricing I am sure by the time it touches Indian shores will be at least 50,000.

I agree that after duty/taxes the price difference would be huge, but just take a min and go through the prices of their mid range TVs in India and US

Sony KDL-32W650a - 650$

Converted in INR - 40k, In Indian markets they sell it almost for the same price! I think even the R series sells for the same prices......

I dont think the Mid end range gets greatly affected by the prices, its the high mid end/high end that gets screwed up with too many price differences! As far as India goes, not so many ppl are ready to shell out more than 50k for a TV ; and to finally to see a TV within a 50k budget with 40 inch display with a Sony brand stamped on it, it will surely be a treat to behold!

Fingers Crossed! :)

PS : Anyone have any idea when they are releasing this in India????

Agreed totally. If Sony manage to price it at equivalent US levels this could prove a game changer for SONY in India.
2014 lineup is expected by the mid of April 2014.

Hi everyone. We're in the market for a 55 inch LED and I think we'll get a Sony from the 800/900 series. Do you guys reckon it is worth waiting for the new models? Are there any major upgrades? Also, I guess the price will be considerably higher than the 2013 models in the first few months.

2014 Sony KDL-55W950B launched in india.

They better price it well below the current W950A,since the new W950B has a IPS panel ,with inferior contrast compared to the W800B and W950A both of which have a VA panel.

48 W600B is now listed on Sony India website for 85k (US price is $650). So 40 inch model which costs $500 could cost 60-65k in India when launched in India :( .I think I would settle for LG plasma PN4500 42inch for 34k !

Looks like SONY India has priced 55w950A & 55w950B at the same price range (INR 1.64L).

Many would prefer the 55w950B due to the passive 3D technology, even though SONY is giving only 2 3D glasses included iso of 4. Buying passive 3D glasses are more affordable.
