Now days the vintage TT rain has shifted to Bangalore, i think!!hyeah:Congrats Anilva:clapping:
congratulations...you will be the TT king around here soon
Congrats Anil, I would suggest give the stock tonearm a try before replacing it, it pairs really well with low compliance DL-103. Though I dont see the counter and vtf rider weights in the picture.
Since of late I've been doing a lot of reading on lencoheaven, was wondering about PTP. I don't recall any of our FMs taking or proposing that route. Any comments or suggestions?
Also regarding the stock L75 tonearm, as per Lenco literature, its not all that bad after all, yes could probably do better with low compliance carts. I am sure that this tonearm is definitely better than the stock Garrard tonearms, how does it match up to the Technics S-arm (assuming we are making comparisons in the same league and not higher)?

Hi,
PTP looks good, but only problem idler wheel is always engaged even in off position.
Stock tonearm of L-75 is not worth putting money and efforts. It can't compete with modern tonearms. My Pioneer tonearm is better than L-75 arm.
Regards,
Sachin
I second both above opinions.
PTP solves one serious shortcoming of the Lenco L75 - it replaces the rather thin top plate, which is of pressed steel, with a nice and thick stainless steel two-part top plate that helps to isolate the motor from the tonearm. But it does away with the on-off mechanism and the idler stays in contact with the motor shaft even when the 'table is not playing. Further, other speeds cannot be played unless some extra mods are carried out. I stay away from 78s but I do have some nice 45s. So I NEED the ability to play 33 and 45.
Well, those are my understanding of PTP's disadvantages. Please feel free to correct me.
Stock arm of the L75 will be the limiting factor in any L75 rebuild. Please replace it with something more modern and better built.
..
Those who are jumping onto the L75 bandwagon need to know that there is considerable time and expense that they must be willing to put in to bring the L75 to top level performance.
Cheers.
Congrats Anil..Great going !
Completely agree on the Time part..expense can still be worked out but time is really the killer. those looking for a Plug and Play from day 1 need to really stay away.
regarding expense..if you do look at 2x-3x the initial cost you will have something amazing subject to time spent
I think that the expense part still brings VFM, when one makes comparisons with the pricing of the big Garrards, the LP12 and the newer breed.
