I'm contemplating between LG 32 led 5500 and Panasonic 42V20D

Firstly plasma produces more natural colors compared to LCD or LED which add extra coloration (brightness) and some artwork to the actual picture...

Second for the same price of smaller LED or LCD a bigger size plasma can be bought which is good for gaming...

Yes SD content is a lil worry area in plasma but not in the case of Panny V20D.

The blacklevels in Panny V20D plasma are better than the models you are comparing with and the 600hz and low response time are added features.

The USB with DVIX HD and DLNA features enable you to play most formats and enjoy the wireless features...

budget is 50 k but reliability is also a concern, heard plasma has to be looked after well for good performance where as other does not require any special care

Temporary Image Retention or temporary embossing of content on the screen still exists in Plasmas of some of the vendors. But it has been reduced to a large extent.

LED- Great resolution. 1080P Full HD. Response times/Refresh times are decent, Much better blacks than LCD. But being sold at premium as it is the newest technology on the scene. Also any major cons or issues with LED are yet to be known.

LCD - Great resolution. 1080P Full HD. Response times/Refresh times is improved in newer models - please check if the model you are looking at has a good refresh rate, Blacks are not that great on LCD, colors are a bit artificial. Backlit technology so both LCD and LED works good in brightly lit rooms. SD content does not look that great (some sets have good image upscalers built in)

Plasma - Excellent SD pic quality, decent HD image view, Value for Money - you get the biggest screen in amount spent (for HD ready sets), Good Blacks (not from LG - check Pana and Samsung for the same), Real colors, Excellent refresh rate. You need to be careful for TIR and prevent any burn in.

Whatever you buy will suggest staying away from 32 inchers.

Go fo plasma... From my personal experience..
HD Viewing is better and natural in plasmas.. SD view is little clumsy.. but it shd not be in Panasonic-V20
LCD/LED is good for SD viewin .....price is high..
so i suggest plasma

Its natural. The store guy gets more bonus if he sells a premium priced product as sells figure increases by double.
