Hi All,

Just joined this forum today..:)
I am looking to buy a 32 inch LED TV.My budget is 25-30k. HD Ready is enough for me.

The main requirements are:-
1. Preferable Brands-Sony,Samsung,LG

2.Very good viewing angles and contrast.

3.Should be able to play all video formats smoothly (especially MKV upto 720p).

4.I have a Moto X so screen mirroring(using Miracast) would be an added advantage. But i have read that for Sony Tv's, the mirroring only works with Sony smartphones. Is this true?

Also, Which of these brands is better overall in terms of build quality, reliability ,after sales service?

Actually I have shortlisted some TV's but there are so many models with small feature differences that it gets very confusing

Welcome buddy.
I can comment only on this part of your Question. The Most basic TV from Sony in 32 inches which has WIFI direct is KLV-32R422B and its MRP is 32.9 k. Guess it will be available well under 30 K. Those who tell that screen mirroring work only with Sony mobiles are right only partially. They are talking about one touch screen mirroring through NFC. That damn thing works with NFC enabled Sony smart phones. My 950A just refuses to connect to my MI3.

But screen mirroring can be done in manual mode.

See the pics.

Thanks for the clarification.

Any other suggestions people?

What do you have in mind ? Can you tell the list of TVs which you are interested in the said price point ?

Sony TV : R412B/R422B
These are the only ones in this price range I think

Samsung : H4000/H4100 F4000/F4100
All seem the same with minor differences

LG has many models so I haven't seen them properly

R422B specs says "WiFi only for media sharing". What is the use & how does it work?

I have a Nexus 7(first edition). Is it possible to do screen sharing or media sharing with Sony R422B?

Will these features work with iPhone?

To have a proper screen mirroring on iphone you will have to buy either Apple tv or HDMI adapter for your iphone,

I use imediaplayer app on my iphone and iPad to share photo, video and music on my sony w950 wirelessly, its slow and lags a bit but it's the only solution other than having to buy Apple tv and hdmi adapter

Most of the Android device supports screen mirroring if your nexus 7 has miracast support you can screen mirror it to sony tv supporting screen mirroring

So guys, I have been researching more,
This LG model LG 32LB582B is available in flipkart for around 28k.
And this is a Smart tv with built-in Wifi, 3 HDMI and USB ports, Miracast, Wifi direct and lots of connectivity options.
At this price, the Samsung and Sony models which are available are basic entry level sets.

Why is this, does the LG model compromise in display or sound quality?
Or do those Sony/Samsung models have superior display/sound ?

Any help will be appreciated :):)

Lets just say that Sony sits in the top in Brand Value and LG is at the bottom and Sammy is above LG. At 32 Inch size, you really don't need Full HD. Its indeed a Value for Money TV from a proper branded company.

Just see how the PQ looks in this TV in your perspective and go ahead. But for magic remote, you need buy both the dongle and magic remote to use it with the TV.

Thanks for your valuable inputs.
Also the LG Model is in fact an HD Ready model.
Regarding brand value, I thought that LG and Samsung are kind of equal.

Samsung has released a new model H4303, although mrp being 34.5 is being sold in online shops for less than 200. I will look at them together and then decide.
Again, Thanks

Any information of about the panel types in R412B & R422B ?
IPS, VA or TN?
Sony W700 has VA Panel. R412B & R422B have the same panel or not?

As far as I have seen, there isn't much of a difference quality wise! I have an LG 32" and a Sony 42". For me LG represents pure value for money, while Sony, though being a premier brand, isn't all that jazz that it has been made out to be. LG, in fact, reads pen drives and external HDs faster. Plus my Bravia has malfunctioned once  while LG has been all fine as of now.
If you are going for Sony, I think all that you get additionally is a bragging right of saying "I have a Sony". Apart from that zilch! If you are looking for pure VFM, go with the best prices vs features package. LG/ Samsung/ Sony aren't all that different (at least to me they don't seem like chalk and cheese). Do check the speaker specifications ;). Generally brands compromise on them to reduce prices. Happy Hunting :clapping:

You are right. No point in buying a sony in low end segment. LG stands the most value for money in budget TVs and they are indeed faster when compared to Sony in Budget segment.
