Hi,
want to buy a new 32"full hd lcd budget around 30k
looking at 2 models
panasonic L32u30d
samsung 32D550

getting 3yrs warranty with panasonic

which is better to go for?

I would say Samsung 32D550, It has better color reproduction and gud contrast...and imp blacks looks better on Samsung... I am not saying Panasonic is bad...its just not as gud as samsung in leds, even u can check out Sony KDL-32EX520 if it comes under ur budget...it must be same as Samsung 32D550

^was checking sony but it is going overbudget.
compared samsung and panasonic and found that black levels and contrast seems marginally better than panasonic and this difference almost neglible when watching 1080p video.

my main concern about samsung
1.panel lottery system
2.gaming lag in va panel
3.viewing angle(as sitting arrangement is all around room not just center)
4.warranty 1yr(panny 3yrs)

concern about panasonic
1.less black and contrast level(but not huge difference)
2.usb playback not as good as samsung(panny plays most formats avi,mkv,mp4,divx etc and resolutions but stuttering in playback of 1080p movies)
(can this be improved with firmware update by any chance)
3.Dynamic contrast ratio is 20000:1 only

one good thing i liked about samsung and panny is that they both support ntfs drive and can handle hdd of 1tb also which is not with sony.
also response time of panny is 6ms and in game mode further reduces to 4ms

Nothing much to choose between them these days. May be the 3 yrs warranty so something worth considering Pana for. Read the rules and avoid bumping

^so that means whether i go for sammy or panny its all the same without much difference.
sorry for bumping as i am unable to get a clear answer and i am planning to purchase either one soon by next week.
if there is any other lcd full hd under 30k which is better than these 2 then pls suggest.
here is link for both

thanks.

I am using the Toshiba 32 RV600E bought for 27k in Feb. Did a lot of research before buying and found this one having the best Picture Quality and Other Features in this price range. When you compare the above model with any of the models mentioned by you , you'll probably choose Toshiba.

Just my 2 cents.

^Toshiba may be good but there after sales service is a big issue and even pre-sales also as it is hard to find a toshiba lcd here not much availability, may be due to low margins
so my choice limits mostly to panasonic, samsung,lg and sony is out because of high cost as my budget is less than 30k.

finalized on panasonic going to buy next week.
kindly input suggestion if it is ok and i should proceed with my purchase

samsung 32D550 is a FULL HD LCD tv..
sony 32EX520 is FULL HD LED tv.
sony 32EX420 is HD READY LED tv.

people say you wont observe much of a resolution difference in a 32" unless you are with in 2ft from the TV. this is highly personal opinion. go to some stores have a demo of all these models and then zero in on a particular model.

prioritize your requirements first..
USB play back.
FULL HD/ HD ready.
Black levels.
Warranty.
etc,..what comes to your mind.

take a pen drive/HDD with clips of most of the formats.
check on each TV. then decide on play back clarity.
don't forget to take 1080p videos..

my personal take.. sony has a skype HD cam for some 5k with which you can make skype calls directly from your TV. very help full if you have elder people at home and any of the family/friends/relatives abroad.

hi neo,
check again with pana ppl if they are giving 3 yr warranty on lcd tvs. i believe its only for plasma tvs.

regards,
shivap

^^i have checked with panasonic and they are giving 3yrs warranty including panel on all plasma and some lcds

and as per priorties i will definetly go with one with max warranty and usb playback,fullhd/hd is secondary
and as far black levels are concerned sony samsung does have an edge but the difference is not huge and probably will notice only when you compare them side by side.
plus my arrrangement of room is all around so people will sit everywhere and i want good viewing angle also.
panasonic is providing all except best black levels.
