3D vs 2D doubt

hi,

If I purchase 3D plasma TV and want to watch only 2 content (for most of the time this is true for all of us), what will be picture quality as compared to pure 2D TV?
Does it get blurred while watching 2D content on 3D TV?

lol... bro u need some basic education abt 2d & 3d on tv!
All 3d tv r basically 2d tv only with a built-in 3d mode(where u switch ON the 3d mode by pressing a button on the tv remote) where u feel some kind of 3d or get a virtual feeling of the picture getting out of the physical tv screen ,but only when u put in spl built 3d spectacles/googles onur eyes.

& to correct a fundamental error in ur typical thinking,let me say that Most 3d tv's excel in their basic 2d mode ,much more better p.q than those only 2d normal!//they have to more complicated/sophisticated & accurate//

Finally all tv 's r physically 2d only,3d is just a mode whch can be activated/deactivated by a flick of the remote & which can be only enjoyed/viewed by putting on 3d specs only!

My Mother(60+) asked me also the same question, while i went to purchase my 3d tv..i could reasonably make her understand ...now i think i could do it for you!

Yes! That is called 2D to 3D conversion. It will up convert your 2D content to 3D. The results are not great though.

Yes! That is called 2D to 3D conversion. It will up convert your 2D content to 3D. The results are not great though.

both 2d & 3d content in3d mode will always looked blurred w/o appropriate 3d specs...& that salesman should be immediately fired from his job of demoing a newbie customer a 3d tv with 2d content in 3d mode & failing to explaining what the blurred image is all about!

Among them LG cinema 3D is having best software as per internet survey.

Do these 3d Tv convert live tv to 3D as well?

Yes the Sammy 490 has this feature and can convert the 2D to 3D, including live TV. The only thing is that it is not Full HD. Further any 3D content be it be actual 3D or 2D converted to 3D will always be blurry without the glasses.
