I'm from kottayam,kerala.
Also tell me which is better, An LED or a Plasma.
I don't play any games. Not interested in them. Just movies only through usb/HDD mainly & Videocon DTH connection with a few HD channels.
And I like it to be 3D. I love 3D :ohyeah:

Let me know if any of them are available in these price range.

m also looking for a new tv also from kottayam. My 2 year old lg 42 led blew off recently due to a power spike. M planning to get a 42 sony this time with EXTENDED WARRANTY as my 65k was wasted in two years due to unawareness of this warranty thing. At 40k all the options I saw had lot of compromises. As per other members plasma is better, even I find it convincing with color tones. But for me I cannot tolerate the plasma's flickering(may be my eyes have problem )like old CRT monitors. Also, worried about service as plasma's may go out of market any day soon.

I strongly suggest to really watch something in 3D before buying a 3D tv.I too bought a LG 3D tv,thinking its amazing and used this 3D feature only once over a period of 1.5 years.Just a thought.

Missed to mention that early. I had another Samsung 3d tv in chennai, on which I played 1 or 2 movies in 6 months period. I never owned a blu ray player but. But active shutter like plasma has flickering which always gave me a headache. If you don't want 3d for sure, save the money for a better panel.

As I see you are also from kottayam, wait until Onam, as u may get some offers.

Samsung 43F4900 is the one in your budget. Make sure you want 3D coz I haven't watched more than 3-4 movies after I got Plasma (active 3D) replaced by a LED (passive 3D). I also felt strain on my eyes for the first few movies but you'll get used to it in time.

How is the 3D experience ?? And usb playback ?

I am also planning to buy a 3D LED TV by end of this year. Visited the reliance store last saturday and they were pushing SONY. Picture seemed much better than Samsung or LG but was active 3D.
Was initially inclined towards passive 3D (LG) but the salesman told me that passive 3D is not HD, while active 3D is.
Wanted to know if that is true?

I like Active 3D over Passive not just because of the full resolution but also Active looks more lively than Passive. I really enjoyed 3D movies on my plasma but when I got it replaced by the LED, I don't really enjoy 3D that much. I really miss the pop-outs. Active may strain your eyes a bit but after watching 1-2 titles, your eyes will adjust. You should demo both Active and Passive and decide.

3D on Samsung 4900 is awesome.. plays smoothly the 3D rips 1-2 gb size of movie. Active glasses is bit of a headache early on.. But shouldn't be a problem. Just watched how to train ur dragon last Sunday ws blown away buy the 3D effects.

Trust me AOC in reliance digital 42 or 40 inchs is 39k with 5 glasses for 3D, its 3d tv with 1080p. i already have a lcd and dont intend to upgrade in near future ..just wanted to suggest to buy "Value for money".

QRS has some Onam offers. In case if u have not noticed it before.
https://www.qrs.in/samsungpa43h4900-p-7242.html But lack of Full HD on a 42 inch screen should be noticeable. On 32, I theoretically u dont really need 1080p if u r sitting far say some 6+ feet away. Just see if your viewing distance is too far from TV. If its far, u may not notice the pixelation. Well, whats the point in buying a huge screen if you are sitting too far away? Also, if the room is bright, plasma's would disappoint you. But watching experience at night without lights on a plasma would be better than LED as it has better black levels. Plasma is highly recommended, if you watch more in the nights.I was always irritated by my older LED's greyish blacks. To avoid that I use to turn down the backlight alot, which inturn never gave me the real benefit of a LED panel : brighter display. But, try considering a 1080p panel for this screen size.

If windows are closed my room can be pretty dark. So no problem with the lighting.
With 1080p there are none available at this rate with 3D [Plasma or LED] :o
43 inches makes a huge difference I think. Best and only deal with good 3D performance at 40K. Already done a demo with none 3D version.

Also, I have put my Et50 on sale from Panasonic.

It still has over 1 year 3 months of Warranty left.

No issues and having said that have sold many [products to members here with no issues.
