i found this on on par with my budget but its 2 channel which is also fine as long as i can connect 2 spkrs and a sub
(4 Channel was keeping in mind that he might buy a mid class sedan in a year or so)

My bro Owns a Alto with Pionner HU and oval speakers of the same make

Mods: Please merge with appropriate thread if this is in the wrong section

Madhu,

I have a

1.JBL 4 channel GT5-A604 ( 4 channel Power Amp- Bridgebale)

2.Pioneer GM-X944 ( Mosfet 4 Channel Bridgeable Power Amp- extremely powerful and can drive most subs that I have thrown at it)

Let me know if it interests you

wife says it takes too much of place in her car so got to sell it to make place for her shopping sprees

@Flash

I have the pioneer 3200BT model from US as the head unit paired with the JL audio components in the front doors and coaxials in the rear doors in my i20. I was looking for a sub to pair to this combination with the help of an amp. What do you think will be suitable for running only the sub as my headunit is taking care of running the other 4 speakers? Sub I am yet to finalize a small one with crisp & clear bass.

Thanks

No offence Flash

JBL 4 channel GT5-A604
Can u throw more light on it Flash , i mean the set up HU and Spkrs..
pionner low pass freq starts at 40 Hz am i missing something:p
I am more of a Bass Head and also Jbl starts at 10Hz ?
How much are u quoting and how many months old is the Amp

@ manniraj,

I have lost track with newer components available in the market .
However if you want to drive only a sub look at a 1 channel monoblock PA
or a amp that is bridgeable.

I used the
Pioneer GM-X944 to drive 2 subs in my car.
However it would be overkill for a small sub.

Madhu

Music does extend below 40hz so no issues here. Its the output at lower freq 40-80hz that is important if u are a bass head.
Here is where a Subwoofer + Power amp comes intot he picture

Most Car speakers 6x9 Coax etc have a fq response of 70hz to xxxkhz. It cant go below 70hz this is where the subwoofer kicks in.

The JBL i bought it 2 years ago and basically my wife drove the car for around 5k7k kilometers. So its not used a lot.
I am looking at 5k. I cant remember but i bought it for close to 9k . I am pretty sure the prices are a lot cheaper now.

However Madhu as you clearly said . If its a gift ..... Buy a Brand new one.

I have a couple of car subs as well JBL GTO 1260 ported Anniversary edition sub and a Infinity Sealed sub
The prefer the JBL for output since it is a ported design and the infinity for tighter bass because of the sealed cabinet design

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
