Hi, any reason why you have not considered plasma.............better price vs performance compared to LED/LCD.

Well i would go with the EX520 or the samsung D5000,both models are EOL and will be replaced by 2012 models.

Even if you'r totally against 3D, I'd say one thing about 3D TVs. They all have the latest HDMI 1.4a, which means you get another feature of HDMI 1.4a, Audio Return Channel. This I think is quite a good feature and a 3D movie once in while is not such a bad idea ;)
I'm not saying that you should buy a 3D TV. But this is just something else you might wanna consider.

just got my 40Ex520 and I m loving it.

Man ..what a pic quality..

one of my friend got samsung 40E5000 @34 k and i got 40Ex520@44k from the same shop at the same time and checked the PQ and features ..

But I m awestruck by Sony Ex520

They are in niche category..!!!

:yahoo::yahoo:

I would suggest 40D5000 as it is more slim and looks good than 40EH5000.The USP of samsung tvs is that they support almost all formats via USB play

I would suggest the Sony EX520 series. Good value for money considering its a sony and add a extended warranty to it.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and feedback. Havent really thought of getting a Plasma. So more or less, everyone is either saying a Sony or Samung. Looks like the Philips is out of the equation. If I had a 3D TV in mind, it was KDL40EX720 from Sony. Think its around 67K now with 2 glasses. Would have thought about a samsung 3DTV as it plays all formats, only problem is that it doesnt come with any 3D glassess and the glasses are very expensive. Does the motion rate make a big differnce?

Ya. The samsung 43e490 plasma has caught my eye. Its pretty good for an average normal user. Comes with 2 active 3d glasses. Any comments or reviews on this TV yet.
