Hello,

I'm in the market for a TV for PS4 pro which has 4K and HDR. So far I have zeroed in on these
Sony 43x7002
Lg 43uj632t
Samsung 43mu6100
which are all in the range of 55-60k at my local Croma. I'm leaning towards the Sony mainly because of it's higher brightness which may come in handy for HDR content.

I'm also open to trying out the Vu Pixelight HDR or TCL L55P2MUS as that way I can get a bigger screen for about the same money, but I'm not sure about their refresh rates (the earlier vu, mmx and leeco tv's were 30hz@4k) as I don't think anything below 60Hz is suitable for gaming. I'm also not sure if they will accept the HDR signal given by the PS4 Pro.

Thanks in advance!

I'm in a similar situation; except I'm looking for a 49/50 inch. My budget is the same as yours, but I decided to sacrifice on quality of the TV for size. Trust me, size is the single biggest factor that impacts one's TV viewing experience. Everything else is secondary.

While I haven't bought my TV yet, I've done a LOT of research on all these TV's (except, one size bigger)

I decided to go with VU (the pixel light model) - however just when I decided to buy it, turns out it's out of stock. I've been waiting for the stock to come in forever, but now they say it's only going to come next month, so I now need to decide what to do!

Between the big boys, I'd say the Samsung is a clear winner. Along with 60hz, you get the best input lag numbers by far. That aside, there's this particular quality to Samsung TV's I've noticed over the years - it just looks more real than everything else. I can't put a finger on what it is, but it's most definitely something.

I saw the Sony and Samsung next to each other - while the Sony might be better in case you want better viewing angles, it doesn't have anywhere near the black levels that Samsung does (black level quality is one of the most important qualites in a TV for me). None of these TV's really provide much by way of HDR, cause none of them have a 10-bit panel (not certain about this model of Sony though?) and though they receive the signal, can't really do much with it.

So bottom line, I'd say if the budget is inflexible, skip the big boys and get the VU, just for the size, IF it's available in your location! The PQ is decent, has a good set of smart features and the unit doesn't look too shabby. (avoid TCL; the smart features seem crap and the specs are poor)

You should also consider input lag in HDR mode and normal mode. Also does the Tv has HDR Game Mode. I have LG43UJ752T its excellent Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn looks freaking amazing in HDR. Input lag performance is so good that I even use HDR Game in multiplayer.

I'm okay with a 43" as its for my bedroom. I already have a 58" for the size :P. I cant find input lag details for the samsung, but the Sony is supposed to have excellent response times with 4k and HDR enabled.

The 752 series is a version higher than the 650 series. Plus, LG offers the RGBW 4k, which is inferior (inferior on paper at least; not sure if someone who isn't an enthusiast or comparing it to Samsung side by side would notice).

If you have to get one of the bigger brands, Samsung seems like a no brainer to me (assuming price is similar)

That LG looks good but its a bit too far out of my budget :(

Does the Sony have True HDR (with a 10-bit panel)? If not, Samsung's fake HDR and Sony's may not make that much of a difference.

IF Sony has true HDR, then it's a toss up between whether you want true HDR or better black levels (I've checked the numbers already, Samsung does have a better input lag number, don't remember exactly what the numbers were though).

Just checked and the Sony does support HDR10.

I am pretty sure even a enthusiast won't notice the difference in RGBW. Its just some tests that makes it more evident and in everyday usage nobody can. Also I don't think anybody does to their Tv's what reviewers do to theirs. That's my opinion maybe people like to spend more to buy samsung, sony and not even get all major HDR format support. Well its always better to buy something thats best within one's budget.

Im looking for a tv too for gaming with xbox x. Can anyone suggest a good tv for it? I will use it for gaming and watching 4K discs

Is the VU pixel light 65 be ok? XT800 2017 model?

I have a Samsung 55 inch MU6470. Excellent HDR and 4k and one of the lowest input lags at 18-20 ms. 10 bit panel reproduces excellent color in HDR. Brightness is around 400-450 nits which I find plenty bright even for HDR but it depends on individual preferences I guess, some tvs these days do 1000 nits but honestly I don't think anyone can watch a movie at 1000 nits without getting a serious headache. Anything more than 500 nits is impractical and waste of money.
