5.1 Receiver in India

Hello Expert,

I have Bose acoustimass 10 speaker system. I am returning to India in couple of month and thinking to take this system to India.

I am not sure my current 5.1 receiver (pioneer vsx-521-k) will work in India. I says 120v and India power is 220-240v.

I am not sure which option will be best for me

1. Take the current 5.1 receiver (pioneer vsx-521-k) and use with power converter. ( not sure it work and give same quality output)

2. Buy a new receiver in US which is compatible in India. If you know please suggest the model number.

3. Buy the receiver in India..how much it will cost?

I appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

You can use your current avr by using a step down trasnsformer. Many members are using 110V AVRs this way without any problem. Pioneer 521 will cost less than 25K here. The Home Theater Store

forget the plan of buying AVR in INDIA. Its way beyond expensive.

I'm not sure if the voltage converter does a good job enough for the AVR to work seamlessly. I would suggest you to buy the AVR there itself? also get the surround and center speaker too.

For front you can go for a floor stander like wharfedale 9.6 which also dubs as a good sub.
