5.1 to be used with crt tv

I am thinking of buying a 5.1 channel home theatre.

I have two products in mind Edifier DA5000Pro or the F&D f600.

This will be basically for watching movies with my CRT tv and music through ipod. Maybe in near future i will upgrade my tv to LED too. So also that should be kept in mind.

These are very good 5.1 systems as per user reviews. The only problem is that they don't have digital or hdmi inputs. Digital inputs is very important to connect devices as todays media players, blu-ray players, stb etc. use only digital out or hdmi for 5.1.

Better go with an HTiB driven by a true AVR and from well known brands such as Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha. Suggest Onkyo 3500, Denon 1312xp, Yamaha YHT-298, etc.

AV, Hi-fi, etc. is costly - a very costly hobby. But if you buy cheap now, you will (definitely) regret later. Remember: when you shell out peanuts, you get monkeys.

I am not saying that you should blow a fortune but some investment is definitely required to have some degree of enjoyment.

2) What is the kind of source you will be using for playing movies and music
3) How long you are going to retain this new system before your next upgrade
4) What is the budget?

How is the logitech z906.It is little over my budget.

then you can buy just a 1200 Rs 2.1 pc speaker set up from intex etc..
save money and get a good system later...

if 10k is final...the try mitashi 5.1 set ups...maybe 3.5k....its good for the amount..
logitech is good..but no need to spend more than mitashi..

you mentioned player...like ipad etc...what will be the source..dvds??tatasky?? etc

I will try to drop the idea then. Will save the amount a buy a tv later.
I was thinking of buying the logitech z906 since it has some good reviews as a home theatre too. So was thinking to initially use it as home theatre for now and later on to replace my comp 2.1 with this ones and buy a HT for the TV.
