Hello Guys,

I've been looking to buy a 60" plasma/lcd and the only VFM option in that size seems to be the LG 60PK550 , which is available for 1.2L on ebay india.

Are there any other options which are better than that model in the price range for 60"?

Thanks!

LG 60PK550 is the best option currently available to you. Also note that the 60" being sold in India is a "Made in Korea" set.

Any place where I'd get the best pricing on it? I could look those places up over the weekend

Thanks

I had seen demo set at LG shoppe, santacruz east, station road, near western express highway and also at Sony Mony, Vile parle (dont know if they are displaying it anymore).

Once you have had a demo and in case you decide to buy then do speak to Fairdeal electronics, just opp sony mony vile parle, can get a good deal from him. He had quoted me 59k for 50PK550 two months back when no other dealer was offering for less then 63-65K.

If you can get a panasonic then it probably has a better pic quality than LG. I would go for plasma for that size over LCD

Larger Joy

I think you should consider a projector and screen for watching movies, the joy is much larger compared to watching on television.

Re: Larger Joy

Don't dispute that, but don't have the place to put up a larger screen.

I would say not to 60PK550. For a large screen it has very few user calibration options and capability. Imagine watching a display you can't tweak unless you are not picky about it. Saw the 60" but was disappointed - just a large screen displaying some images.

I would say the Samsung 58C6500 is a better choice. Some from this forum already owns it (search search search!). Only if the Samsung 63C7000 was available at great discounts. Sigh!

Check out for both the LG and Samsung. See what you like and tab your budgetary allowance.

Dude Trust me, even the 50PK550 is made in Korea. LGE's Indian facility do not have the lines to assemble sets over 42". Its just that they don't put the "Made in Kr" stickers

Shaiju, i agree with you the 58C6500 is an awesome set with loads of features and stuff, also the PQ is awesome. If one has the budget he should go for the same.

I'll try and see if I can get to see both the models. Looks like the Samsung is better on PQ, wonder if a great deal was possible on the 63" one :yahoo:

Man I was seeing the prices for Black friday sale in thee US. Panasonic 50" FHD Plasma just $600. Samsung 58" Plasma for $900. Man! why dont we have thanksgiving in our country.

Tv prices are much lower in US due to recession and drop in sales, to lure the customers there will be a price dip as they need to sell stuff and increase sales.
