Hello All,

I have a simple question, please help me out.

Marantz PM5005, 6005 models doesn't have SUB out/ Pre out, but they do have a Record out which can be used as Sub out ?

Is there any difference between, if i connect an active SUB to preout/SUB/Record out, other than the volume control, like power/quality/clarity etc. ?

Record output comes directly from the selected input terminals. So it's signal is always at maximum level. Your volume control doesn't affect it . So your sub will be 'uncontrollable' and going at full blast.....most likely overloaded !

You will need to take the output from the speaker terminals for both those models. There are no other simple options .Your sub most likely will have terminals to accept high level speaker signals.

No, you can connect but you need a sub with speaker line level connections.
