Advice for Vacum Cleaner for Asthmatic Son

Guys,
Need your help. My son is Asthmatic. We have slowly moved to Homeopathy and it is really helping but he still gets it. Doctor beleives it could be due to my pet or dust at home etc etc. I am looking at a good vacuum cleaner so that brooming and mopping is done away with (which is causing more harm than good).

I loved the rainbow cleaning system using water (Rainbow Cleaning System ), but at 1.32 lakhs it insanely priced and I am not sold at that price point.

I am looking for a cleaner which will suck pet hair, dust, mites, etc and will not throw it back!!!

I came across Karcher system similar to Rainbow, which uses a combination of Water + HEPA and thought this will be good. Any one has any suggestions?

Sadly your pet is not doing any good for your son's health & ultimately you WILL have to make a choice regarding this matter. The pet hair shedding is unavoidable & uncontrolable, no matter how much you try to avoid the occurrence.

Karcher products are good(not cheap either!), just check with regard to the after sales service as they have habit of subcontracting it to 3rd party service providers, who are sometimes not upto the mark wrt service.

Cant get rid of the pet, she is part of family. We have air purifier in all rooms, and my pet does not enter my kids room. I know its not perfect, but i am trying ways to bring it down.

Service is by 3rd party at least in Chennai.

Karcher Ds 5.800 is specially made for people who have allergies. The water filter in the product results in 99.9% clean air as the company claims.

Though I havent used it I believe it should be much better than the traditional vacuum cleaners.

Service in Chennai is by the company itself so no issues should be there. Otherwise also Karcher vacuum cleaners are not prone to issues.

Thanks Goyal for the assurance. The 99.9% is not due to water but due to the HEPA 12 filter. Water is good tool for bigger dust and it eliminates the need for a dust bag which in my opinion one of the worst thing about vacuum cleaners.

I did speak to Nadeem of Karcher and ordered this for 24.5k in Infibeam. Now waiting for it

Alongside you can try and ensure the following:

Avoid Carpets at home
No fur dolls/toys
Avoid Incense Sticks
His sleeping area to be cleaned of dust etc regularly

See if you can put him for regular swimming. This really helps the respiratory system.

Thanks buddy.

1. Done, except for one all are removed
2. Not able to, we rather wash it weekly. Planning to vaccum them also once I have the Kracher
3. Done, also threw away mosquito coils, replents etc. Now I make my own DIY home fragrance using essential oils and his room has eucalyptus fragrance all the time.
4. Thats the main reason for investing in Kracher. With no Dust bag, I am hoping it will be even more effective

Apart from these:
1. We have a Sharp Air Purifier
2. Shifted to Homoeopathy which is resulting in much better results


Need to get him to swimming, my residential complex swimming pool is not operating due to ego tussle btw association and builder. Hope it resolves soon
