Advise on Samsung Bluray BD-E5500

I was looking for a media player to play .mkv files and other downloadable content. I have a denon 1713 receiver and a 5.1 setup and Sony 46HX850 TV. This player is available for Rs 6000 in Grey Market.

Does anyone have any idea about the performance. You can see the specs at BD-E5500 - TECH SPECS | SAMSUNG India.

Would this player suffice?

PS: Even Sony xx-490 is for the same price. But I wonder if it can play .mkv

U can buy sony BDP 490 I'm using it from 6 months it plays all formats including mkv too. only the problem is it wont support external srt files.

490 mrp is 13k....5500 mrp is 10k...

so for 6k...490 is my choice.yes it can play mkv....cant play flac
