Hi, wanted to buy some ht items. To cut costs , came across this online site, which some of the members have referred to.

Some questions

(a)How do u purchase items from this site? mode of payment, any relevant info
( b) Any additional customs duty, transportation charges or hidden charges that has to be paid than what is displayed on site?
( c) Warranty clause.
( d) Any other info u wish to share
( e) Major pros and cons.

There is a dedicated thread for amazon.de and no need to open another thread. Coming to your questions,

1. You can use your existing amazon account. If you don't have one then create it in amazon.com. Amazon.de is in german so use Chrome browser to translate the site on the fly while shopping. Mode of payment will be credit card. AXIS bank debit card can also be used.

2. The total payment is inclusive of all charges including customs duty.

3. Obviously warranty will be of no use here.

4. Not all items are shippable to India. Amazon.de was best a few months back when the shipping charge was very low. They increased the shipping charge considerably and so in most case there is not much advantage in using amazon.de

Be prepared to shell out 43% (customs+taxes) if you are importing any speakers . The frieght charges are also increased. So if you import a speaker for 500euros, it will cost you 70K when it reaches your home plus no warranty. Happy days are over a couple of months back.
