i have the rotel ra-1062 amp and matching ra-1072 cd player. i place them next to each other and for some reason i disconnected them from their power chords. and now i am not sure which power chord is for what. i checked the chords and found that they are the same model with the same specs etc (all the markings/writings on the power chord seem the same). is that usual?

the cd player consumes like 30 watts while the amp consumes 300 watts. shouldn't the greater power consumption of the amp require a different power chord?

appreciate any insight on this. thanks.

That's usually the case with power chords supplied by manufacturers.
However since most OEM most power cables are similar they can take heavier load. whether its an AMP / CDP / PC etc

However given an option personally I would change the default chords with better ones
