Hi friends,

My Samsung LED UA46D6000 reached yesterday and was installed today by their service guys. No issues regarding pic quality. Yes, TV sound is a major let-down. A ten grand CRT TV has better sound. Well, my issue is another one.

I have hooked the LED in a home-theater set up. Hooked it via AVR and 5.1 speakers. I played content from my media player (WDTV) and DVD player where I connected with the external speakers via AVR as well as the TV sound was on. i.e. to say the audio was played through the external as well as the TV speakers. I noticed that the audio of TV was delayed and was not keeping pace with the external speakers, which resulted in a echo-type sound. When both audio played alone, played okay. But when both the audios when played simultaneously, they were not in sync.

Even if I play audio cd with the external speakers and tv speakers working simultaneously, I face the same problem.

Has anyone faced the above problem. My previous CRT Sony TV did not had this problem.

P.S. This is not a lip-sync problem, which is also loosely called AUDIO LAG, where the audio and video are not in sync, there appears to be 1/2 seconds delay or advancement of the audio over the video.

Please suggest settings if any.

Thanks and regards.

happens to me as well.. when i tried tata sky HD ( sound over hdmi ) along with optical through optical.. i was able to identify that the tv sound is slightly behind the optical.. however not a mjor lag but few milliseconds.. half a second can be huge if you are watching faces on tv.. it can be a 'word' behind if its half second..

@baijuxavior,

Truly said, that is the only option left, since I have tried all the possible setting in the 'Sound section' on the Samsung TV. But the question is WHY SO ???. My Sony CRT did not pose this problem neither I had heard of such a thing. I am aware of the video-audio lag, but that is a total different thing altogether, which can be adjusted (10 mts - 200 mts etc) which can be manipulated on media players for proper lip-sync.

Is it a faulty decoding ? And more over does this happen in the Samsung, or this is common problem with the other brand LCD/LED's as well. Of course, we seldom use the TV speaker when we output it through external speakers via AVR. But technically speaking the audio delay does not make sense. And yeah, one more significant thing, this audio delay is present for all the sources, be it media player, DVD player, or even the broadcast tv,when played via AVR Initially I thought the WD media player might be the culprit, since it is one of the most usual suspect when there is any discrepancy in the audio / video segment. But surprisingly the audio emitted from all the sources had the delay. Any clue ?

Warm regards and thanks
