May be few years back it wasn't fair to expect really good sound on AVR /Htibs but with the new tech we are just there getting best of both the words.

People buy Home theatre only for good sound. I have not seen a home theatre sold with a tv which justifies my statement.

Is sound important???? What else do you LOOK for in a home theater!!! It would help if you be a little more specific with your query.

I have spent 4 years to search for my HT(sound) and increased my budget from 50000 to 1 lakh in the process. This forum helped me a lot.
For the TV, it took me just 6 months and 46,000.
Well, that speaks for itself.

Of course the quality of the sound is the most important aspect of a music system. How loud you can blow it is another issue. I don't think that reason behind buying a home theater system is to play it loud. It is to enrich your surroundings with the audio you are playing which could be quite enjoyable if you are not trying to break the glasses with volume.

Dear All,

I have these two on my mind.

Onkyo HT-S3400 (or)
NORGE Gold Amp and the matching speakers NORGE New Mill.

Shall I consider any one of the above for listening music as well as for watching movies ?

It looks like (for me) Onkyo is for movies and Norge for music.

Please make me understand.
