Hi,

I connect audio out from my laptop to AUX input to my AVR with Amazing sound quality. I use youtube vids.

My question is does this quality get better as i connect a proper DVD/Bluray player in terms of sound thru HDMI or anmy other method.

Regards,

That depends on the DAC in the two devices. If the DAC inside AVR superior than the laptop sound card's then yes, you will get better sound quality.

When you use laptop out to AVR's Aux input, at that time you are using the DAC of the sound card to do the analog conversions and AVR is used as a Amplifier. On the Other hand, when you get the digital output of any DVD/Bluray or even the Lappy, you use the DAC inside your AVR to do the analog conversion.

So you have to check it out which one is better.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
