Hi friends,

I'm planning to buy TV during this festive season. I'm looking for guidance to buy AV receiver and speakers to go along with the TV.

Need to buy:

1) AV Receiver, Soundbar/Woofer

OR

2) AV Receiver, Floorstanders and centre channel(if really needed)

Budget: 60k - 80k

Sources: DTH, PS4, PC

Usage:

Movies 40%

Games 10%

TV 30%

Music 10%

Room dimensions: 27ft x 13ft(not a regular rectangle. Narrower to the kitchen side and lot of furniture in the hall. Hence, the preference towards to less number of speakers)

Can I do without AV receiver? If I can, how many and which all ports should I consider for the TV?

Where can I audition the speakers in Bangalore/Chennai and where to buy?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Regards,

Sajit

Hi I think a HTIB will suit you better since your usage is mostly HT. Centre speaker is a must in any HT setup, but you need to plan for the surround speakers also. If you are not particular about a 5.1 setup buy the best possible AVR and towers for the time being. Later you can keep adding the speakers. I suggest not to go for sound bar. A simple 2 channel stereo will sound better
