Hello Hifivisioners,
Just had a question. I recently auditioned a dedicated stereo system with a stereo amplifier connected to a few high end speakers (sonus fibre liuto) and the sound was really amazing. I then moved on to a 5.1 setup with a denon avr-2113 connected to some high end focal speakers and played the same track (the amp I was told was connected in stereo mode) but I felt in this case, overall sound quality wasn't as great as the stereo setup. Now it may be that the speakers themselves were contributing to the better quality in first case, but having a dedicated stereo amplifier for music certainly appeared to have made a difference.
So if it does make a difference, is it possible to have a avr receiver + stereo setup. From what I have found out is that the avr shoud have a pre-out (which is present in the more expensive amplifiers...denon 2313 for example, costing 70k in India, 55k shipped from the UK), whch can then be input to the stereo amplifier.
Honestly, I would not like having two different setups for music and movies.
