What is a good Blue-ray player to pick up under 12k ?

Does it make sense to go grey market to get a better one for the same money ?

If I go grey, who is a good guy to go to in bangalore ?

Sony recently launched a Blu-Ray player BDP-S370 for Rs. 9,999/-. you can expect a discount of 2% on it. I bought this player last month and happy with it. It comes with a HDMI cable and 2 blu-ray discs. I think this is your best bet considering warranty and everything else.

sure you do get a better performer for a little more in grey , at your budget u cud chk out the new model from sony under 10k ,if u want to be a step ahead look for pioneer/panasonic @ slightly higher price ,but in grey ,u cud go to national market go to basement on left side 3rd or 4th shop ,his name is govind
The models u cud enquire for the mentioned budget are pioneer 320/120 and do chk for pana too

chennai cud be cheaper let me know if u need the contact info

Thanks Guys for the information.

Subhash, I would have gone in for your player had the price not gone down so much :)

I'll check for the pioneer 320/120. Any particular pana model ?

The new cheap models seem to be light wieght

Do any of these do a good job at upscaling dvd videos ?

Philips, sony ?

no problem ,i too wasnt aware of the prices going down so have withdrawn the BDP and decided it stays

i wud advice u to go for a REG A player (as most available BDs are multi region or A , rarely u come across a C )

no idea on sony but the philips is fine with dvd upscaling to 1080p

where is the grey market of electroncis in delhi(i think its gaffar mkt but not sure) please help

Anil - it is indeed Gaffar market.. you can contact Titu Sodhi at 98110 19456. Please be aware that these products do not come with warranty. I would also advise that you shop around in the market physically before making a purchase.

Cheers

Yes you should be able to source the same things a little bit cheaper than through showrooms / dealers if you can find the same model. Their prices change on a weekly basis and I havnt purchased anything from Gaffar in a long time.
