Hi guys, i am looking to upgrade from my current 4 yr old Headphone "sennheiser hd201" to something with better bass response, my budget is max 4500Rs or under 60$ from Amazon.com, i really like how hd201 sounds but bass is minimal,, need something which is an upgrade from hd201 in BASS department and should be good at mids and vocals or atleast should not be worse than hd201 in clarity.
will be using it for
Music 70% (Mp3 320kbps of all kinds)
Movies 30%
very little gaming

My current speaker setup is Altec Lansing vs4121 which i don't like it a bit,, because its bass is soo FAKE, they produce bass unnecessarily for song which dont have bass notes and there is is no way to control it with EQ, ,, mids/vocals are like tin sounding in these speakers.I rarely use speakers now.

My Requirements:
Very Good Bass
Mids/vocals/treble should be good (atleast as good as hd201 or better)
I don't like harsh or sharp treble
Easily derivable with PC in built audio (only be using with pc)
Headphone type- Open/closed doesn't matter

I looked at reviews of few models like Sony XB500, said to have best BASS but i fear if its an downgrade from my current hd201 in other sections like vocals/mids etc,i am not audiophile but need something enjoyable. Also checked reviews of jvc 700/900, ATH 35 but its not clear if they have good bass response.

My pc inbuilt audio is Sound Max AD1988 said to be better than realtek chips, may upgrade to Asus Xonar DG in few months but not sure

Even i was looking for something on that price range.
I had initially shortlisted the following from amazon

Urbanears Plattan Plus ~$65
Philips CitiScape Uptown ~$82

Now i am planning for SOL REPUBLIC Tracks HD ~$129 :yahoo:

Just Google the following for reviews all of them seem to be pretty good.
Check them out. I've not heard to any of them personally, I've just read reviews on them.

hey buddy.....
u will get lot of headphones in this price range...
i personally will recommend u the MONSTERS frm sony...SONY XB300...
they r over the year hf,with soft comfortable cushioning , very good bass response.....good for music lovers...
another pair that i am using since last 7 years is CREATIVE EP630.... inner ear phones.. will hardly cost u 750 INR but performance better than any hf in the price range of 4 to 5 k....u wont believe, i found them better than even bose basic earphones......:ohyeah:
one more thing.....xb300 will reproduce equally good higher freq....

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
