Hi,
Visiting bangalore weekend.,

Suggestion for best movie theatre in bangalore for true audio sound/surround sffects
Dolby atmos will be an added advantage..

In Malls is inox or pvr and it's location..

Thanks
Rajesh..

Hi,
When we say Theater, I coudn't consider the theater in Malls :-) most of the Time.I rate Urvasi at Lalbag is very Big for a Movie experience. Next comes iMax at Forum Mall.

I have visited few theaters and this is my opinion.

Sorry Never been to Inox, need to try.

I visited Mukunda, the sound format is Dolby Atmos but i couldnt feel the quality. The Bass not impressive, mids/dialogues not clear and tough to understand. Overall found very bright and too much loudness.
Last visit to Urvashi was for a Hindi movie in 2015. Observed that the center channel/dialogues were very much loud compared to other all channels. Despite that Urvashi is one of the best theaters in Bangalore.
I never liked the sound quality in PVRs or Inoxs or any Multiplexes(except IMAX), they sound like very big home theaters, no overall experience like traditional High quality Theater sound.
Others please share views

I feel , I still miss Sangeet, Anand , Skyline ... from hyderabad.
leave alone Dolby ,DTS ...

Thanks everyone for valuable inputs, will try PVR: IMAX, VR Bengaluru, Whitefield,
Movies playing now 25.12.16 are dangal hindi surely scrape for testing sound effects...best option is rogue one A star wars story..

Rajesh..

Me thinks the movie theaters in Bangalore are not technically great. On top of that, the movie trips in Bangalore leave a huge hole in your pockets. Dolby Atmos is yet to be introduced in most of the theaters here, but once they're in, I am sure, the ticket prices will be shooked by another 50 or 100 bucks more. Monopoly!!!!
For better movie experience, Chennai and HYD dominate in the south.
A very normal theater in any part of TN will be much better compared to a super costly ones in Bangalore. Well this is my personal opinion, I will be happy to be proven wrong.

Hi,

In last 2-3 months I have been to couple of theater. But I like upgraded DOLBY ATMOS Audi @ Forum Mall, Koramangala. They have upgraded Audi 6, 7, 8 to DOLBY ATMOS. The sound was great.

Only My opinon out of 6-7 years experience in bangalore

In Projection quality, the only no.1 in bangalore is Audi 8 and 9 (both are exclusively gold) of PVR VR mall whitefield

In normal Audio quality, any audi of Forum PVR was the best ever balance between Subwoofer, surrounds and fronts

In Dolby Atmos, best is VR mall Audi 1 (exclusive gold) or Audi 6 of Forum PVR.

Oh that's great, didn't know that! But how to know what movies are playing on Audi 6, 7 and 8 before booking the tickets?

I remember in USA they mentioned it next to the movie name during online booking!

Option1 ) If u book from PVR website it will show atmos beside movie name. without anything in bracket will be non-atmos version of that film. those atmos movies will always play in either 6, 7 or 8

Option 2) Follow hit and trial in Book my show. Dont finally make payment Just before u make payment it will show u audi /screen number in booking details.

I also agree PVRs have a good sound system
I wonder if prices will go down after government order
Some tickets are really overpriced. Bahubali 2 would be a good movie to go to [emoji1]

I completely agree...when it comes to best movies theaters...Malls scrap. Our personal home theaters sounds great.
The best theater I felt is URVASH( Lalbagh- Bangalore) I used commute to this theater to watch a movie leaving behind the mall which near to me Forum(Koramangla). In comparison to malls single screen theaters does very well, there are couple cinemas Laxmi,Balaji (Taverkere) also very good in sound systems. Mainly they all use 2k/4k Christie projection & proper brand speakers & amplifiers (eg Urvashi- Mayer exp , Asia's only theater with this speaker system around 2015).
Have recently I watched Bahubali2(Telugu) in Narasimha chitra mandira (Hosa road,Bangalore) , they have renovated recently to 4K and Dolby atmos...what a sound . lows, mids ,highs are vary well. Especially in fight scenes the thumps ....made me crezy :P ...They have 4 speparate subs for atoms on side walls + 20 Atmos speakers on ceiling. Same movie I've watched in one of the PVR ...crap screen looks dull & sound too dull :( .

I can say PVR IMax (Forum,Kormangla) is good they have extra subs for sound effects.

Waiting for English movies to watch in this theater.

***IF ANY ONE WANTS A GOOD MOVIE EXPERIENCE THEN WATCH MOVIE IN ESPECIALLY IN SINGLE SCREENS ,coz they invest a lot.******

Malls for ambiance only and empty ur pockets by selling eatables at high price .

Coming to Hyderabad ....SANGEETH,VISHANATH,SKYLINE, INSOMNIA ARE THE BEST I WATCHED...others I did not try.

Not but not the least....Jagadamba(Indias first Dolby/dts(1993) theater as I heard)
in Vishakhapatnam is one of the best.

Talking only of Multiplexes here.

Any IMAX is very good provided movies is remastered in IMAX. Bahuabli 2 was properly done.

Selected Audis in some multiplexes are very good . For Atmos, Audi 7 of Forum, and Audi 1 of VR Gold are impressive. In non atmos, Audi 1 of Cinepolis Binnypet Mall is huge and has almost an IMAX size normal screen with excellent projection. Anything watched in these three impresses me.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
