Best Place to Get Old Sony 2-Way Speakers Repaired/Recone (MHC-VX222)

Hi Fellow Members,

I have a pair of old Sony 2-way speakers that I’m looking to get reconed or repaired. They’ve served me well over the years, but the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, and I believe it’s time to give them a bit of TLC.

I’m looking for recommendations on the best place to get speakers reconed or repaired, especially for vintage models like these. I’m based in Jaipur, so any local suggestions would be great.

Any advice on trustworthy places that handle this kind of work, or personal experiences with speaker repairs, would be highly appreciated!

Why do you think the cause of sound quality deterioration is the cones?
Which amplifier are you using with them?
Looking at the pics the cones seem fine

Mid Bass Driver is fine, but tweeters are causing some crackling/hissing sound, tweeter cones are all torn. Are you suggesting that torn tweeter is not an issue? These speakers are used with factory shipped amp unit (mhc vx222), its an very old unit purchased in 2001-02.

Torn tweeters are an issue if they are too much torn. Slight cracks wont affect the sound. Replacement tweeters are available for these or they can be reconned also without much change in sound quality. But it is difficult to open these boxes as they are glued from inside. Opening may damage the enclosure which will be impossible to make again then.
