Blu-Ray Disc not playing.

Purchased a blu-ray of "50 First Dates" from Flipkart, but the blu-ray disc I have received was not working in my player. It was hanging the bluray player and seems the disc was spinning in too much speed. So replaced my item to Flipkart and today I have received another piece but it has same issue. I am not sure what is going on. The blu-ray cover says it is region free, but the disc is/was French/Spanish UK version (please see in link, mine disc is EXACT SAME).

The cover on this link says it is region B and the disc should be B too. But MY COVER says ABC and strange thing is disc is EXACT same with this link one (which is B).

I too purchased blu ray discs from flipkart during their sale. Among the discs I got Jack the giant killer, Oz the great and powerful, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter don't play. They just spin and die down. The other discs, This is it, Amadeus, Fantasia 2000 and This means War play well. I even got 'Jack'replaced, but the replacement behaved the same! I have a Dune HD max which is region free so region lock should not be an issue. In any case all the discs show region free on the cover.Whats your blu ray player? Are we getting some faulty stock from flipkart? anyone else face the same problem?

My player is Sony S-1100, purchased recently, hardly used for 2-3 movies. And I believe there is no issue with player. I have more than 70 BDs and all are fine, work flawlessly. I am not sure if I should ask them to replace again that blu-ray. They may blame to my innocent player I was worried because the disc doesn't look Indian and may be there is region issue. But it should show Region issue message on the TV screen. Seems there is something wrong with the whole disc lot or in the all discs (title) which were produced in faulty machine. Last week received my another order from Amazon India, the title was "Final Destination 5". My title was 2D but when I inserted the disc seen a message that the disc is 3D and it needs 3D Bluray Player and TV. So replaced the title and got another one. Strange thing was the on the disc, nowhere mentioned that it is 3D. Disc was 2D but the contents (pressing) was 3D. It was manufacturing defect.

You are right it seems to be a manufacturing defect. Seems to me the seller probably knows about it so he offered the lot at a discount. Still, did you try to play the disc on another player, just to be sure? I will try to do that to double check if its a fault in my player. There have been reports on forums of Dune HD max not being able to play Fox BDs due to firmware problems. If its a region issue it should show you a message definitely

I think this is not firmware issue, even I have many BDs which are made for latest firmware. But those discs simply give a message that "some feature may not work properly, please update the firmware" after that discs starts and works as it should. But these defective BDs just hang the player and spins very fast as yours. I can feel the vibration on the player's body.
Good Point : My disc is packed in 2011, but my player is 2013 model and released recently, so the firmware should be 2013, I think my player's FM version is just one step behind than the latest one, so I guess this issue is not because of firmware.

Just try to play the disc in another player if you can. If it doesnt play then it means we have all been taken for a ride by Flipkart

I suggest returning the merchandise starring fault. Also report that had got replacement which also food not work.

Visited an exclusive Sony showroom today and tried this BD in many players but same issue was with those players. So going to ask them for replacement from Flipkart.

Today, I have replaced my BD and Flipkart processed the refund. Now I am sure I should order same title from Amazon India or not. :sad:

I think yes, in the email and sms they have mentioned it will take 7-12 days, also mentioned to contact Flipkart after this period if not received the refund.

Also make sure they refund the amount to your bank. I was asked for refund in my Flipkart Wallet so that I can use that money for another purchase later but I refused that and told them to process that refund to my bank only.
