Hi all, my brother's ICE in skoda rapid is just plain vanilla, as WV vento and Rapid are same, is there any way of adding Bluetooth for cell phone calling purpose,my brother doesn't want to harm any factory fitted wiring, I am planning to gift him GPS receiver with Bluetooth compatibility, by using this the audio can be routed through AUX port, pls suggest , thanks all.

Last couple of days I was searching for same in many automotive forums, didn't get any satisfactory results. Head unit of vento (rcd310) have option to plugin Bluetooth module that can be controlled from steering, but do not know where it is available.

I am using Venturi Mini and am quite happy with it. It has lots of useful features
1) Automatically connects to last bluetooth device it was connected to on start.
2) Provision to add 4 bluetooth pairing devices i.e. upto 4 phones.
3) Mini display shows call information and for configuration.
4) Download phonebook to it. It will then display contact name when the call comes instead of number.
5) Audio out is through AUX 3.5mm stereo and FM Radio. If using FM radio, it will also display call info on the ICE if RDS standard supported by it.
6) USB charging for phones - works with my Sony android phone.

Eventhough these third party offerings are good none of these devices integrate with existing audio system in vento or cant make use of steering mounted controls.

Yes, they are stand alone devices, but fairly user friendly all the same. I believe there are Bluetooth devices in the US that do allow you to connect with your sound system by wiring up.

Read up on the Kenwood KOS thing. It might just be the product you are looking for. But, it would require a BT unit separately.

Kenwood KOS is a complete system that i do not require.

In my case HeadUnit menu already have option to enable, disable Bluetooth and steering have controls for call function. Missing piece is blotooth hardware module that can directly plugged in to the rear side of Head unit.

This module is shown in some youtube videos, but VW dealer I contacted do not have any idea.

Thanks all for the replies and advices. :) myself happy with my pioneer BT 2490 fitted in my wagon R, but will analyse all the options mentioned by you regarding Skoda Rapid, again thanks to you all.
