Bose 161 Speakers

Friends,

I just realized that I have a pair of Bose 161 speakers with me and thought of setting up a second stereo setup with a Norge 2030 or 4242 amplifier. Any thoughts on it? Will the Bose 161 produce any bass? What other budget option do you recommend.

I listen to Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Eagles, Eric Clapton etc.

If any other speaker is more suitable, (below 10K) please suggest.

Bookshelves. What's the opinion on CA s30 and Norge 2030/4242 for a small room, say 12x10?
Also, will Bose 161s + Sub woofer with Norge be any good, because on their own,161s are not much to write about

I had owned these speakers as my surrounds in my HT system. They have this star drive technology which produces decent bass but certainly not to the extent for a dedicated stereo set up. Better to supplement it with a dedicated sub. As such they are not great speakers to spend much on it.
