I need to know of an amplifier with a DVD player and FM/AM for the Bose Acoustimass 5 speaker system.

The budget is around 15K

What are the recommendations?

Im also open to other better options.

A good matched AVR with Bose Acoustimass 5 speaker system will definetly give a satisfactory sound.Although I am using Bose Companion 5, its sound looks upto certain level.

Hi,

The Bose AM5 is a stereo speaker system and rated at 100w RMS per channel, you should look at Stereo Integrated amplifiers which have a minimum output of 25-75W RMS per channel. Bose works well on any good amplifier...

Here are a few links......

Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 Amplifier

Sonodyne SiA 310 Stereo Amplifier

Sonodyne SiA 320 Stereo Amplifier

Cambridge Audio Topaz AM10 Amplifier

Big audiophile brands like Cambridge, NAD and Marantz have amplifiers that may seem to be under rated in power output but they are ultimate performers and will do good justice for you....if I were you...I would put my money for Cambridge Audio / Marantz.

Here are some receivers with FM

Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 FM/AM Stereo Receiver

Instead of purchasing a DVD player, why not go for a Blu Ray player which will play practically all formats, read a pen drive and even a portable external hard disk? You may want to consider Pioneer BDP 150 / BDP 160

Hope this helps.

Hope this helps...

Re: Bose Acoustimass 5 speaker and Sonodyne SiA 310

WoW!!! Thanks..This is really good.
Im now looking for a place in Mumbai to audition the Sonodyne SiA 310 Stereo Amplifier and I guess that only in MIDC, Andheri E.

That's what looks to be the closest to what I need, but the review say that its low freq response is not that good. Any owners, pls comment

Also which current DVD/Blueray player supports USB and multiple formats. Of course it also needs to have RCA outputs, since most of the integrated amps have RCA inputs.

Thanks.

Hi

As far as my experience with Bose Acousticmass AM 5 series I and II go, they do have a warm signature. My neighbour has them which he runs on an integrated Yamaha amplifier.

The newer series infact sound much brighter. So to ensure good justice, it would be better to pair the new series to a proper integrated stereo amplifier like Cambridge Audio or Marantz or NAD which will ensure proper power with all frequencies driven appropriately.

I have a pair of AM 5 but somehow I like the sound of 301 much better............
