Bought Mac Mini for iPhone coding and HTPC use

Hi Guys,

This weekend I bought Mac Mini 2011 model (2.3 GHz) @ 30K. Got 12% student discount as well :yahoo: Also purchased 21.5 inch DELL LED with hdmi @ 9.5K from nehru place.

Have ordered mini toslink to toslink cable from dealextreme 3 weeks ago. Still awaiting the delivery. Shall keep you posted when I plug it with my HT and LCD for movie.

Till then it is study time for me learning iphone app development

PS: I need HD movies since I only have true DVD movies and very few 720p movies in my collection. Help Appreciated. I am in FBD but can goto delhi or GGN for movie exchange or copy.

I am in Sec 9. This one doesnt hv optical drive and who needs one these days! Its a gorgeous system which is easy on power and high on performance.

will it play 1080P HD rips without any lags?

can mac mini output BITPERFECT audio?

It does play 1080p seamlessly, even though I have not tested it personally yet but my decision was based on the user reviews.

I am not sure what is BITPERFECT audio but it can output digital out thru toslink, hd audio though is not supported. But it wasn't a concern for me since my current Onkyo HT also does not support HD. May be when I will upgrade in next 2 yrs time I will take decisions accordingly. Currently this suits me to the T.
