Hi, the Pioneer BDP 170 is a good player with excellent value for performance and looks...I have the BDP 160 and the LX 55....both running well without any issues....firmware update to be done only if necessary...

The players I use are Region A and purchased the same from my local dealers in Mumbai...works fine..no issues till date

That's surprising to know...my players plays everything thrown at it except if it belongs to a different region or non playable formats...some vcds are made in fancy computer format...

All region versions are available in the market since BDP 160....check before purchasing...it will be tagged as REGION FREE

As per pioneer India website, the new version bdp-180 is released, yet to reach any of the dealers though

I have been trying to get hold of 170 since last 2 weeks from my local dealer + all online sites...
but, everywhere >> its Out of Stock.

Anyone has any idea, if any dealer has this or any online site where I probably haven't checked ??

170 has been stopped and 180 is the new replacement, no change in pricing, guess you'll have to wait for the new stock of 180s to arrive at the stores

Even I have kept a watch on 180's still not available in normal market.. Does anybody have any idea when its coming to local dealers market or a group buy from main dealer?
