Dear Friends,

I'm a newbe to this community. I've decided to build up my HT system slowly & narrowed down to Denon AVR1612 & MA BR-2 speakers to start with. Can you guys suggest a better alternative interms of better AVR & speakers within that budget? I found Polk Tsi300 also good in terms of its overall performance. I'm planning to finalize by this week, requesting audiophiles to help me out at the earliest.

Pran.

Hi Pran, welcome to HiFivision......

Denon and polk will pair with each other very well. If you could share details about your budget and room size then Fellow Members could help you better.

Jaivelu,

Thanks for your reply. My budget is around 45k max for a good AVR & pair of bookshelf/floor stander. I understand that Polk goes well with Denon, but someone advised that Monitor audio BR-2 is also an excellent choice for music considering that both are in the same price bracket.

My room is around 120 Sq ft, but the viewing distance is hardly 12 ft horizontally placed between two walls. Their the issue lies.. little bit worried about the acoustics too.
One more thing.. heard that marantz (1402) is better than denon (avr 1612) for music. When it comes to wattage; marantz is 50w/channel & denon is 75w/channel at 6 ohms. My requirement is 60% music & 40% action movies. Also, denon have a USB slot where i can easily use my pen drive for music, but lack FLAC support. Here in Kolkata, hardly get good brands like Tannoy, Dyna audio etc & no room for audition. Have to rely only on online reviews... totally confused. :(
