Need to buy one tv 39-42 inch. Don't have the budget to go with the so-called premium brands - lg/Samsung/sony.

Which is better in Ondia/Philips/Videocon ? Ondia 50 inch is available in 49K

if that is the case .do check out toshiba and sharp, some pretty good offerings there too.besides enquire and get extended warranties

Thank you for the suggestion. I checked in many shops in Bangalore and most of the sales guys are telling that though sharp is good, after sales is a big problem. Also the availability of models is also very less. Toshiba seems to be better in this sense, but still most of the shops have any model and some shops have just one model.

The Sales guy will try to push the model which fetches them the most commission, so don't believe what they say. i have been using Toshiba for around sometime now I feel its a very sensible choice because i saved money by not giving a fortune for the Sony\Samsung\LG .
Do try to visit Toshiba Authorized seller they will be having TV's on display

who said you cant get premium brands in 40k? dont look anywhere get a samsung 43inch h4900 plasma for around 40-42k. The same specification TV of LG can also be had for 36k.

whats ur primary use of TV ? Television programs or movies ?

Primary use is for watching TV programs, but occasionally movies. Plasma ? As Panasonic stopped plasma and heard that LG & Samsung are also thinking in the same line, I do not want to go with plasma. More over, most plasma are not full HD.

Friend..

Plasma produce a more natural colored picture...

The contrast is way better then usual mid-budget LED

Viewing angles are way better then LED

Motion blur isn't a problem with plasma.

It will always produce a far natural looking picture

LED's are literally too bight and are a pain for prolonged watching.

and as far as I know, Samsung and LG are still making them.

weight out this pros and then decide.

It will fit your bill easily

Dear Friend,
I am convinced about the quality of Plasma. But my worry is about the support. Panasonic already stopped and LG is also stopping.

i second what frnd says, but samsung aint the only brand, you can review LG,panasonic, sony too, demo the sets and then decide.

SAMSUNG is the way to go then....

The heart cries for Plasma

but cold logic whispers to go with LED

my sentimental bits...;)

Bad news for all you plasma TV lovers there will soon be no more plasma TVs

Samsung already stopped Plasma and LG is the only vendor right now, who is also announce its exit form plasma very soon - as per news.

Samsung and Panasonic have already announced their exits from the plasma business and now it's LG's turn. The Korean company has hinted that it will production on plasma TVs soon.

LG is probably going to kill its plasma TVs | News | TechRadar

Anyone knows where in Bangalore I can find Toshiba exclusive showrooms ? I have visited almost all Reliance, Digital, Croma, Pai, Girias, Viveks, Adishwar.. etc, but could NOT find much models. Some have one model, but many have none.
