Venkat and other mods,

Maybe it would make sense to allow bumps after a certain number of inactive days. With so many threads being active on the 'For Sale' section, an inactive thread can easily get buried under and go unnoticed. Not a good situation for the seller who you wish to help out.

Just my thought

Once a for-sale thread is lost in the past there is no chance of it ever surfacing again, unless a member or visitor finds it by search. I think this is unfair. On the other hand, so is constant bumping from an impatient member, whether it is re a question or a sale.

Patently, some discretion was used in moderating the DAD DAC thread which is nice --- but I can appreciate that one discretion given can lead to a dozen why-not-me hassles for the mods.

My vote would be for a one-month limit. This allowance may be helpful to members selling speciality high-end equipment that is seldom going to be snapped up like a Squeezebox touch.

The DAD dac bump was a blast from the past! I learnt quite a bit from it, even though it was against the rules. My 2 cents.
That was my DAC.
It will be connected into my system this week, once my audio set up gets going.
Essentially, things should be allowed if they are in moderation.
Say once every 2 weeks a bump may be permitted.
If not, the seller can post a 'review' of the product & that will provide a 'natural' bump to the for sale thread...just my 2 cents...

p.s. That DAD was a great DAC - I will know how it plays - soon - looking forward to it !

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
