Heya peeps,
I recieved my shipment of HD555s last afternoon, after a couple of misroutings by Blue Dart. But hats off to them, they were delivered within 18 hours of picking up the package.
I placed an order for them on nextworld.in based here in New Delhi, on Dec 02, 2010. And was happy to recieve them by yesterday afternoon. Too bad I could only collect it later in the evening. Excellent service from nextworld I must say. Free shipping.
I am using it with my iPod touch 2g and am mainly into high bass Indipop and Punjabi remixes and Heavy Metal.
The sound clarity is amazingly refined, the volume is dependant on the sound card, ofcourse.
The main Pros and Cons are listed below:
Pros:
1. E.A.R.
2. Comes with a 6.3mm stereo jack and a 3.5mm adapter (Also see cons)
3. Senn quality of Audio Clarity upheld. Even bettered, I'd go far enough to say.
4. Extremely ergonomic... I even fell asleep wearing them! And have continuously been wearing them for 5 hours now.
Cons:
1. Bass hasn't really kicked in as yet... but I'm taking word of mouth that a good burn-in of ~50hrs. should do the trick.
2. Headfi Amp needed with iPod. Not so much on a computer/for monitoring.
3. The 6" of crap (Stereo jack with adapter) and incidently, it is the heaviest part of the set, so if the headphone-in on your laptop is strategically placed, like in my case, you're gonna have to sit holding it with one hand while you type in with one. Specially, now that I am thinking of an amp, i am not sure where it's gonna take with its potrtability issues. Although I hope the line out on the amp is a wee bit tighter than my oldass laptop's.
Questions:
1. What's the deal with this burn-in I am expecting so much of? Will it better the bass response on this otherwise amazing piece?
2. Since I'm looking for a thumpy-blasting-bass, will the E3 be enough or should I buy the E5 instead? I haven't read a lot on the E1 yet. And what's the deal with E7? Is it worth the increase in price from E5?
Looking deperately for answers.
