If you are looking out for some feedback on the Marantz 6007 or 6008...go for it...worth its value and performance for music and movies....in terms of speakers you need to look for speakers with the same impedance as the AVR.....most important, you need to ensure that the sensitivity levels are 88db or more...this will ensure good output even from low powered AVRs.....the heart of any home theare is the centre speaker and subwoofer...these both need to be of excellent quality...the fronts and rears are just passengers in a home theatre setup to provide support and effects....in music mode...this is where your Front speakers would matter and hence need to have the required dynamics to fulfil your music appeal!

Speakers which can deliver almost or rather all frequencies continuously (20hz to 20khz) are ideal....you can click on my user name for related posts which can guide you to some extent...also a search on Home Theatre systems in HFV would help....

All the best....it all depends on what appeals to you and your budget..

With a budget of 300k, you should consider pre pro and power combos. That said, I'm using a Marantz SR 5007 for nearly an year and have no complaints.

The Klipschs are very aggresive speakers and would work nicely in a HT setup. For subs look at SVS and Def Tech.

@jsb... I think you have spent at-least sometime in this forum before posting this query... If you have seen ppl who have queries, they give the requirements with their room size, and seek guidance on what they are looking for...

It would also be good if you can update this speaker prices in the Price list thread, so other FM who are looking for it would benefit...

Appreciate if you could give some more details on requirements, so other fellow FM can pitch in with their suggestions...

No no jsb.. you have far better options at that price level. Dont stick only to Klipsch.

A different opinion, JBL have got studio grade speakers at that level, pls checkout.. Also, do audition BnW, TAGA, MK sounds, Theils etc..

If i were you, i might have gone with speakers from MK Sound. Maybe something like this

In terms of AVRs, you should consider one of the following brands only as they live up to their reputation in performance and delivery of stated output across all frequencies besides the added features.... Cambridge Audio / Marantz / Nad

B&W speakers 600 series or CM series blend very well with Marantz AVRs, the Polk RTi series also are good....you can also look at Wharfedale Diamond series. Subwoofer can be of Velodyne or SVS......end of the day...speakers need to be of almost the same impedance of the AVR, the sensitivity level should be 88db or more...higher the better output and less strain on the AVR. The most important the speakers need to deliver the required quality and punch in music and movies across all stated frequencies smoothly...time for you to go with your favourite music and movies and audition as many speakers you can and then shortlist what appeals to you in terms of performance, looks and budget.
