Buying Avr from UK

Hello all,

I am planning to buy denon 3500 avr from Uk which is on sale at a very good price (around 45k inr). My friend will be coming next month to India from Uk and he can get it for me. I just want to know will it atrack any custom duty or if we can avoid any duty by showing it as a used it item in check in luggage? Please advise.

Also i believe there won't be any voltage difference issues in electronics bought from UK .

No issues as it is less than Rs. 50,000 which is the limit unless your friend is carrying other very expensive items... No difference in voltage and can be used as is...
