Buying New HT - Suggestion needed

Guys - My friend is planning to buy a HT and having a budget of 50K. His primary requirement is for listening to Music rather than movie.

He has already auditioned few brands and like to go for HK. Following are the two models that he has zeroed in and planning to buy one of these.

1) HKTS 5BQ Speaker Package With AVR 70 - Rs.42000/-
2) JBL BD300 (without AVR) - Rs.39990/-

Please let me know out of the above two models which one is best suited. In case of 2nd model, which AVR is good to buy????.

Also let me know for other suggestions/opinions or any other advise.

If you friend is interested in music, why get HT speakers......

then you should be considering a stereo amplifier / stereo receiver with a Bookshelf / Floor stander..

That is one of the option but still occasionally movies are on the list..whether this package is worth to buy?

My suggestion would be 1st one. All the best.

I would say no, because the if the music is priority then only go for Marantz or Yamaha AVRs. Harman Kardon speakers which you mentioned are tailored for HT not for music.
As elangoas said you should consider a pair of good bookshelves and an stereo amp.

The models which you have mentioned will do justice to music.
If you really want to go for a HT, then choose Wharfedale MS 100 + Yamaha or Marantz AVR. You can even consider Sonodyne Sonus Bookshelves which are also good for music.
