Hi to all fellow HFV members, after being a lurker on this forum for close to a year I finally decided to become a member myself.:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

So, I've been thinking of buying a Tv for my home for too long a time and I've decided it's now or never; That's when I stumbled upon newly launched VU Tv's and as per the reviews and pictures I do feel Vu brand is a complete bang for the buck.

But, my biggest disappointment was that flipkart didn't had delivery options at my place(Gulbarga, Karnataka). So I checked snapdeal, though there's a price difference of 4-5k I think it's worth it only if snapdeal's service was comparable to that of flipkart or amazon.

So, my query to fellow members is that has anyone bought Tv's from snapdeal? Is it a wise decision to order on snapdeal?

Thanks
Prithvi

In case of Vu - they have specifically mentioned flipkart on their website.
And if flipkart does not deliver in your area, Vu will directly deliver to you.
Contact them at their support email. I did. They offered me to deliver at my town. But the rate was higher than flipkart at par with snapdeal - check your PM.
Though i think you should prefer direct delivery from company rather than Snapdeal.

Thanks for the reply.

I just placed my order at snapdeal this evening.:sad:
Im just praying they don't goof up as this is my first big online purchase.
I hate you flipkart:mad::mad::mad:

The reason i Picked up snapdeal was that, there was no pay through emi or direct pay option thru SC credit card hence had to pick snapdeal as their price was 2k less than that of Vu website and also the CC payment option.

Thanks

If you want to buy anything expensive, A BIG NO for CRAPDEAL (SNAPDEAL). Many FMs (including me) had worst experience with them (you can search for it). If you talk about their customer service (regarding any issue with item or refunds) you will be in big trouble.

subscribed to this thread on to get an update about snapdeal..

( how on earth someone could take a risk of ordering some costly thing form snapdeal, i don't even order mobile cover from them. or the Aamir Khan advertisement working ?)

Expensive purchase from snapdeal is risky. There are many sellers without any ethics. I have only one purchased one item and that was it.

I bought a 50inch Micromax LED tv and Pioneer Andrew Jones 5.1 speakers from Snapdeal and the packaging was excellent especially the speaker set. The TV was dispatched from Noida/Gurgaon and the speakers from Mumbai to Bangalore and no issues at all. Chill out and in the worst case scenario, the snap deal easy returns is always there. They will replace or return your money and it is hassle free.

i have ordered micromax 50" tv but there was not status updates for the order for 5 days and i canceled the order, bought it from FLipkart

i am doubtful about Vu brand beacause they dont even comes for installation stating that instructions available with the user manual. My question is .. if they are not ready for installation and demo how we will trust them the services in future ?

Seems you have created this account to give positive feedback about Snapdeal. Do you work for them? (Kidding, don't be serious)

I created the account to seek help on step down transformers for 260watts rated av receiver. Appreciate if you can help me please on the other thread.

Cheers!

Everything depends on the seller just like e-bay. If the seller rating is good and have SD batch, one can buy it if the deal is good. From my personal experience, Snapdeal have return policy and they collect it from you doorstep in case of any damage. So chill. Even in worst case you can return it and request a refund which they definitely do.

My experience on snapdeal has been quite good so far. As of now I have bought a Philips 40 inch LED TV and a 27" Benq monitor. Both arrived safe and sound and were quite well packaged. But as suga49 has pointed out, it is like eBay in the sense that the site simply provides a platform where different sellers can sell. The question of whether the site is good or not depends on their return policy (called "trustpay" in the case of snapdeal). Fortunately, I have not had an issue with any of my more expensive purchases. But on the rare occasion where an order has not lived up to expectation I have had no problem in getting a refund.

On an entirely different note, it has now been quite a while since the OP has told us of his decision to purchase a TV from snapdeal. Assuming that the TV has reached, it would be great if he could post about his experiences and whether he is satisfied with the snapdeal service.
