I'm having a sony LCD TV and a Edifier S530 PC 2.1 speaker system. Since the speaker system is a PC speaker system, the sound output when connected to the TV is not great. I feel that the TV RCA out level is quite low which is not enough for the HT amplifier system. Inorder to solve this problem, can we add some amlifier/booster between the TV RCA out and the HT speaker system. If so can I buy it from some shop in bangalore?

Pelase advice.

Thanks Rohan. Yes, It has a built in amplifier but the signal level sent to this amplifier by the TV may be low. So by adding a signal booster/amplifier (if possible) I feel that I can get the max out of the PC speaker.

Do you agree?

No I don't think you can add a booster or amplifier in between as S530 is amplified already!
And by not great what do you mean ?? Is it not loud enough or is it not clear (sound quality)
What is the sound level on your TV? what is the sound level on your speakers? How big is your room?
If you use DTH Set-top box, try connecting directly to that.

Keep your speakers at max (or 80%) and adjust volume from TV/DTH

Loudness and SQ is different when I use different audio sources. I have conncted the DVD player and DTH set top boxes to the TV through HDMI and the TV RCA out is given to the HT. When I listen to the DVDs or Mp3 through the DVD player the SQ is good, but when I watch TV channels the SQ and loudness is less. Even If I increase the volume in the HT, the SQ is the same (not much improvement). I get the best SQ when I watch DVD movies.

I have set fixed volume in TV and use the HT remote to adjust the volume, is this a wrong setup?

Cant you directly connect the audio out from STB to your stereo system and connect only the video out to TV? That way you might have a better sound output instead of routing it to TV and then connecting it to your speakers

Either you have to keep on adjusting the volume of your tv or you could run the analogue out (L/R) of your dvd player and STB using a selector like the one in the link below.

MX MDR ELECTRONICS & MX ELECTRONICS & HDMI & CCTV CAMERA & DVR & SDI ACCESSORIES & VGA ; DVI & APPLE ACCESSORIES & CABLES & CONNECTORS & HOME THEATER CABLES & PRO-AUDIO / STUDIO ACCESSORIES & FIBER OPTICS & CABLE MANAGEMENT & CABLE ORGANISER & VIDEO

In your setup when watching DTH Channels U have three places to adjust volume. DTH Box, TV and HT.
Keep volume of TV and Ht at full and adjust via DTH

Alternatively connect Your DTH Direct to HT
That might solve the problem
