i have a PC
CONFIG is

Mercury motherboard

4Gb ram
1GB GFX

so i have all my BD's in PC n the monitor supports the Video (Dell 23" LCD HD)

so can i connect the HT to my PC Audio ??
IF yes hw ? kindly help me out guyz :D

Congtats.
If your MB has digital out then only.
OR if you add Graphiccard like HD5550(PCI-E 16X ver2.0),you can connect with HDMI.

Or
which dvd player is the cheapest one whch has HDMI OUT ? so that Video i can use my monitor and audio from DvD player to the HT ??

this would be better i hope ?

DVDp comes from Rs.3500,but you cannot play BDs.on it.
BDp of LG starts from Rs.8.5 & nor Reg free.
So you can get a media player like WD/Xsteamers/A.C. Ryan/asus Oplay which starts from Rs.7.5 onwards.

I would like to know how to connect it to PC.
My PC does not have a sound card only on board sound.
I want to get the sound through Onkyo and video through PC monitor.
Is it possible hook up both using a 3.5mm to RCA cable like the one below
Yes you can, with exactly the same cable.
Just connect the 3.5mm to the Headphone Out/Line Out of the PC and RCA end to "TV/CD" Input at the back of HT-S3300.
Then when you want to listen to audio from PC, press "TV/CD" button on the remote.

PS: Also check from the motherboard manual if it has a S/PDIF out header. You will be able to output multichannel digital audio.

You can get surround sound only if you connect PC via digital out,or add a Hd graphiccard with HDMI out.

Thanks guys for the quick reply
Oops.. I dont have a S/PDIF out.
So i will use the above cable as of now and add a sound or a graphics card later.
Even if i am buying a graphics card will it be possible to connect it to my non HD monitor and to Onkyo via HDMI.
Also will it be possibleto connect 3.5 pin to line out and SDDF out of PC

You can connect your display to graphics card using vga cable. Usually GPUs have VGA, DVI and HDMI out. If there is no VGA, DVI to VGA adapter can be used. For line out you can use 3.5mm pin. If you buy GPU, then there is no need for another cable.

Graphic card comes with 3 connections. You can connect HDMI out to Onkyo & DVI to monitor directly & play.

^^ I was doing all the research on how to connect it to my PC and was dreaming about that.:annoyed:
Any way will wait for a better deal or will buy a new one when i am able to afford.
Gone for good as it is not available in market [sore grapes]

I connected my PC digital out to ONKYO HTSS3300 digital audio coax. Selected digital audio as coax for BD/DVD. But no sound!

Also, tried the same on TV/CD. Still no luck.

PC screen shows that the digital sound device is working. I don't have HDMI on my PC. I use DVI to connect directly to TV. I get sound through TV speakers by connecting PC's analog sterio out to TV.

Any idea how to get the digital sound through HT-S3300?
