Hi,
I just downloaded a few dts audio files. It was 1.41 GB in all. It played well in my PC through the VLC player, KMplayer, GOM player. Next I copied these files on external hard disc and tried to play it through WDTV live media player, but WDTV failed to recognize the files at all, leave aside playing it off. I browsed through the file managment, there too the files were not found. Only the cover of the album was found in the jpg section.

Is there any way playing these files through the WDTV LIVE.

For the perusal of our forum users I have noted the codecs while playing it via the VLC which are as follows:

Type: Audio
Codec: DTS Audio (dts)
Sample rate: 4800 Hz
Bitrate : 1536 Kb/s

Thanks

JAYANT

Most of the media players can't play DD/DTS Audio Only files... They do play well when encapsulated within a video file container with video.. This is strange, but true..

If you want to bitstream the DTS tracks to your AVR over a DD or HDMI connection, then try to rename the .DTS files to .WAV and play them as regular WAV files.

I am using a Asus O!Play Mini + some downloaded .DTS files renamed to .WAV to get them to play. This does not work always. I have one .DTS file, which does not work, but all the rest work fine.

Funnily enough, I could not get VLC player to bitstream the DTS tracks over SPDIF on my system :(

VLC has never passed through DTS right for me as well.. I usually use AC3filter to do so.
