Hi,

I am starting a seperate thread on this as the topic is different.

For my new Technics MK5 TT I am facing a peculiar problem with both Shure M92E & M97xE cartridge. In both cases while being used in the same TT when I am ripping the song to my PC,in soundforge I can see the channel graph in both the channels are not equal. This I am talking of when the source is of Mono recording and both the channel graphs should be equal width. In case of M92E the left channel is getting thicker than the right and in case of 97xE the right channel is slightly thicker than the left.

Can u please reason out as why is this happening? Is it something to do with the alighnment of the cartridge?I have fitted the same quite firmly with the headshell and its absolutely parallel to the ground with no tilt towards any particular side.OR is it something to do with the stylus? Both the stylus are around 2 years old and hasn't been used that regularly though.

Please help as how do I overcome this problem.

Hi,

You should align your cartridge with Stevenson cartridge alignment protector.Technics arms supports very well to Stevenson method.I have a soft copy of this protector. If you need I'll send it to your mail id.

Regards,

Sachin
